Mr. Ray Plankey, Founder
CCIDD was founded in 1977 by Raymond Plankey, a lay missionary of the Weston Benedictine Priory,
in order to provide ecumenical experiential retreat programs for North American Christians. His goal was to help
churches be more prophetic in the economic and political struggle of Latin Americans. |

Kathleen Long, O.P.D. Min., Executive Director
A Dominican Sister of Sinsinawa, WI, USA, Kathleen or Kathy received her Doctorate of Ministry with a focus on cross cultural ministry from Catholic Theological Union, Chicago. Her family roots are of Irish heritage from Appleton, Wisconsin. She comes to CCIDD with numerous years of ministry in parish religious education, retreats with youth and adults, mission work in Cochabamba, Bolivia and active involvement in the grassroots, nonviolent movement, the School of the Americas Watch.
"As a Dominican I am called to preach by expressing a spirituality of peace, seeking truth and justice for each person, working for the common good of all humanity and preserving and enjoying our natural environment."

Patricia Cabello Capistran, Program Staff
Originally from Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico, Patricia is a mom working at CCIDD as a part-time member. She lived in the USA for twelve years. While she was living in California, she went to Rancho Santiago College to study English as a second language. Patricia is a Spanish teacher, tutor and translator. She continues studying English at the University of Morelos for certification as an English teacher.

Abril Olmos Loya, Program Staff
Coming from a northern state in Mexico, from Chihuahua, Abril received her B. of A. in psychology from the Autonomous University of Chihuahua. She also studied at the Chihuahua Campus of the Nacional School of Anthropology and History and attended postgraduate studies on anthropology in the Iztapalapa Campus of the Autonomous Metropolitan University. Abril has experience working with educational programs and research projects on migration and ethnicity. Her main interests are indigenous peoples, Human Rights, cultural diversity and racism.

Hugo Sanchez, Program Staff
Originally from Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico, Hugo graduated in Business Administration from the Autonomous University in the State of Morelos, with a focus on Human Resources. He has experience working as an administrator at different companies in Cuernavaca. He is Interested in the economic situation of his country and the possibility of developing projects targeted at low income communities.

Casey Miller , Program Staff
Joining us from Cincinnati, Ohio, Casey graduated from Furman University, in Greenville, South Carolina, with a B.S. in psychology. At Furman, Casey also studied Spanish, eventually developing a keen interest in Latin America. She has experience working with peace initiatives and with projects aimed at socio-economic development of underprivileged communities. Casey is especially interested in women´s rights, indigenous cultures and peoples, and liberation psychology.

Diana Grisanti, Program Staff
A native of Louisville, Kentucky, graduated with a BA in Theatre and minor in Spanish from the University of Iowa. She is a playwright and activist who has lived in Cuernavaca since June of 2007. In her spare time, Diana enjoys writing, reading, singing, and going to plays and other cultural events. Her interests include theatre, social justice, and the combination of the two. She also enjoys linguistics and young adult fiction. |
